How to download the app and create an account.

① Download the Pirika app.
https://www.pirika.org/download/
(available on iOS and Android)

② Tap on "Get." The installation is complete when the icon shows "Open."

③ Tap on the icon to launch the app.

④ Tap "Agree" to the terms of use.

⑤ Swipe left on the explanation panels and tap on "So let's get started."

⑥ Enter your email address.
(You can also sign up with your Twitter account)

⑦ An email will be sent to you containing a 6-digit code. Enter the code and tap "Log in."

⑧ Choose your user name and select user type. Choose a password and tap on "Done" to complete your registration.

Log in to an existing account

How to carry over your existing Pirika account to a new device.

① Download the Pirika app.

② Tap on "Get." The installation is complete when the icon shows "Open."

③ Tap on the icon to launch the app.

④ Tap "Agree" to the terms of use.

⑤ Swipe left on the explanation panels and tap on "So let's get started."

⑥ Enter your email address and tap on "Log in with email".

Click here if you forgot your password.

If you forgot your password, tap on "Forgot password?" after you entered your email address and tapped on "Log in with email". An email will be sent to you containing a 6-digit code. Enter the code and tap on "Log in". Enter your new password to reset your password.

Setting and changing user information

You can change your user information even after creating your account.

① Tap on the account icon on the top left.

② Tap on the icon again.

③ You can change your user name, description, and user type.

④ You can switch accounts or change your password from the three vertical dots on the top right.

How to make a post about your litter picking activity.

① Tap on the tongs symbol on the map or timeline tab.

② Allow access to the Camera and take an image from Camera on the bottom left or select an image from Library on the bottom right.

※ You can select up to 8 images by tapping on the three vertical dots on the bottom right corner of the image.

③ Enter the quantity of trash, the date and time, and the number of participants in the cleanup. Use hashtags (#) in your comments to easily search them later on.

④ You can also enter the location if you so wish.

⑤ You can opt to link your account to other social media accounts to link posts directly to Twitter, etc.

⑥ Check the contents of your post and tap on "Post."

Editing or deleting posts

How to edit or delete your own posts.

① Search on your profile the post you wish to edit or delete and tap on it to display details.

② Tap on the three vertical dots on the top right corner.

③ Tap on "Edit" or "Delete".

Interact with other users

Send a Thanks or comment

You can show other users your appreciation for their activity.

① You can add a "Thanks" to another user's post by tapping on the handshake icon.

② You can see more details by tapping on the post. You can send a comment from the bottom of the page.

Search for posts from the map.

On the map, you can see the distribution of litter picked up so far.

① You can search for posts made in a certain area from the map tab. The posts on display will be refreshed each time you change the map's area.

② Tap on the sparkly icons on the map to see post details.

Search for hashtags

You can see multiple posts with the same hashtag.

① Search for a hashtag using the search function from the top right, or tap on any hashtag attached to any post.

② A list of posts containing the hashtag will be displayed.

③ You can see a graph for the "Thanks", impact and influence, and total number of pieces of litter picked up in relation to each hashtag.

You can also see a list of accounts using the tags.

④ The latest posts using the hashtag will appear on the map. Posts with the location information turned off will appear above Tokyo Station.

View notifications for your activities

You can see the reactions to your posts and other announcements.

① You can view reactions to your posts from the bell icon on the top left of the screen. Unread notifications will be signalled with a red dot on the bell.

② You will be notified of reactions to your posts, comments in events you are participating in, etc. Unread notifications will be highlighted in yellow.

③ You can mark all notification as read by clicking on "Seen" on the top right.

Events

Create an event

Create an online or local event and call out for participants.

① Tap on the + button in the Event tab.

② Set event image, title, date and time, location (optional), and description.

③ Including a hashtag in the description will automatically add the tag to all posts made by participants of the event.

※ If no hashtags are used in the description text, the event's title will automatically be added to posts as a hashtag.

④ Tap on the > button.

⑤ Once created, the event's URL can be found from < in the top right corner and shared to other users.

Interacting during events

Users can participate in official Pirika events as well as events created by other users.

① Tap on events that interests you to see details.

② Tap on "Join."

③ If you join an event, hashtags will automatically be added to your posts made during the event.

④ Comment on the event page and check how others commented to communicate to enjoy the event more.

Group function

Interact with other members of the group.
On the group page, you can see a list of events created in the group, a forum, and a list of followers' posts.
Followers will be notified of new events and new topics in the forum, allowing them to closely follow the group's activity.
Users can have groups they follow appear in the "Recently joined group" section of their profile by allowing so from their user information settings.

Create a group

Create a group and share information between group members.

① Tap on the + button in the Group tab.

② Set an image, a name, and a description for the group, then tap "Create."

③Once created, the group's URL can be found from < in the top right corner and shared to other users.

Interact with the group

You can see the reactions to your posts and other announcements.

① Open the group page that interests you and tap on "Follow group."

② Posts you make as a follower of the group will appear in the "Posts from followers" section.

③ Leave a comment on topics in the notice board or join an event created by the group.

④ You can create an event by tapping on the + button at the bottom right corner of the group page. The event will appear on the group and in the Event tab.

⑤ You can start a new topic from the + button on the bottom right corner. The new topic will appear in the group notice board.

Group function

Register a new account

Here's how to sign up for an account.

① Access https://group.pirika.org/
There is a new account registration form in the middle of the page.

② Fill in "Company or organization name" and "Email address" before clicking on "Apply."

③ You will receive an email containing a password. Use the password to log in from https://www.pirika.org/login.

Log in to an existing account

How to log in with an existing Pirika for Web account.

① Go to https://www.pirika.org/login and enter your email address and password before clicking on "Log in."

② Once successfully logged in, you will see a world map along with litter picking posts from various locations.

③ Click on "Forgot Password" if you can't remember your password.

④ Enter your email address and click on "Reset password" to receive an email containing a new password.

How to make a post about your litter picking activity.

① Open "Map" or "Timeline" and click on the tong symbol on the bottom right.

② Upload images of trash and enter the number or volume of litter, the date and time, and the number of participants in the cleanup.

③Enter comments. Use hashtags (#) in your comments to easily search them later on.

④ Enter the location information if you so wish, check the contents of your post and click on "Post."

① Search on your profile the post you wish to edit or delete and tap on it to display details.

② You can also search for hashtags by clicking on the desired tag on any post.
