Born in Toyama, raised in Kobe. Took a leave of absence from graduate school at Kyoto University after six months and traveled around the world. Saw litter leaking into nature becoming a problem in every country he visited. Later left graduate school and founded Pirika, Inc. in 2011 to solve it.

Head of Services Division

Worked at US companies such as Google and Salesforce, and at startups, before joining Pirika in 2019. As a Director and Head of the Services Division, leads marketing, sales and customer success for Pirika services.

Helped found an education startup as a student and served as its executive for administration. In 2015, drawing on that experience, joined Pirika, a company that aims to overcome environmental problems. Leads administration.

Started as a full-stack engineer. Built web apps and led projects at a systems integrator, then managed an outsourced development division. Joined Pirika in 2023.

Worked on medical information systems research in graduate school, then on car electronics software. Joined Pirika to work on the renewal of the Pirika App for Android. Now develops software for survey products.

Worked as an in-house designer at a paper company and a sake brewer, designing product packaging and promotional materials. Her interest in environmental problems grew day by day, and she joined Pirika.

Studied marine plastics in graduate school, then joined the environment department of a construction consultancy. After a spell in another industry, she renewed her wish to solve environmental problems and joined Pirika. Works on consulting for ministries and local governments.

Worked in back-office roles at NPOs, startups and listed companies. After a 2019 course by former US Vice President Al Gore, she wanted to work on environmental problems. Found Pirika's job post on Twitter and joined.

Pirika, Inc. works to solve environmental problems, starting with litter leaking into nature. Its purpose is to overcome every environmental problem through science and technology. Pirika runs the Pirika litter-picking app (used in 137 countries and regions, with over 460 million pieces of litter collected), the AI litter survey Takanome, and services in consulting, recycling and robotics.
