Consulting

Fewer environmental problems. More environmental businesses.

We reduce litter and microplastic leakage, from surveys to countermeasures and policy. Drawing on 15 years of turning environmental technology into business and taking it worldwide, we help more people start environmental businesses.

Our Approach

Our consulting team focuses on two things: reducing environmental problems and growing environmental businesses.

Reducing environmental problems

  • Find the facts: develop survey methods, identify sources
  • Stop it before it leaks: design measures, policy proposals, awareness
  • Collect it after it leaks: efficient cleanup, recycling

Growing environmental businesses

  • Commercialization support: scouting, trial sites and sales channels, third-party evaluation
  • Overseas expansion: support programs, local research, joining sales meetings, introductions to prospects
  • Secretariat and program management: support programs and committees

What We Value

If no method exists, we create one

If there is no effective way to survey or solve a problem, we develop one ourselves.

We take responsibility until it is solved

We do not stop at the survey. We go on to improve sources, industries and policies.

We stay strictly fact-based

We try things ourselves first, and base our advice on the firsthand information we gain.

Reducing Environmental Problems

After finding the facts, we reduce litter and microplastic leakage in two ways: stopping it before it leaks, and collecting it after.

Find the facts

  • Design and develop survey methods
  • Carry out surveys and spread survey methods
  • Identify sources and estimate amounts

Stop it before it leaks

  • Design measures and develop equipment
  • Involve industries, make policy proposals
  • Plan and run awareness events

Collect it after it leaks

  • More efficient cleanup with data and IT
  • Build collection and cleanup networks
  • Establish ways to recycle collected waste

Example: Stopping artificial turf leakage as microplastics

  1. Method

Built a survey method from scratch

We developed Albatross, a low-cost microplastics sampling device, in-house.

  2. Facts

    Identified the source

About 25% of microplastics leaking in Japan turned out to be artificial turf. We published the results.

  3. Measures

    Developed ways to reduce leakage

We wrote guidelines and made a countermeasure product with a manufacturer. It prevents over 90% of leakage.

  4. Policy

    Changed subsidy rules

Through policy proposals, the main artificial turf subsidy programs in Japan changed, and more facilities adopted the measures.

  5. Expansion

Spreading to other sources and countries

Extending measures to other sources, such as coated fertilizer and tire wear, and to other countries through the UN and others.

  • Join meetings and trade shows, introduce prospects

Secretariat and program management

  • Plan and run startup support programs
  • Run committees and meetings
  • Evaluate technologies of environmental startups

Selected Work

  • Tokyo Metropolitan GovernmentWe run a global sales support program as part of Tokyo's startup support project, aiming to create overseas sales for environmental startups (since October 2025; three companies selected and given funding and overseas sales support).
  • UNEPSurveyed plastic leakage in four Mekong River basin countries in the CounterMEASURE project (2019-2022)
  • JICALitter survey in Vietnam and support for EPR measures

Common Ways to Work Together

We can work with you in many ways, depending on your request. Feel free to contact us even if your goals are not yet clear.

Public tenders and proposals

We can join tenders, and can also help you write the specifications. Sharing case examples and ideas for plans is free of charge.

Direct contracts and joint research

We also accept direct contracts, joint research, and subcontracts for parts of large projects.

Surveys and technical advisory

Surveys of leakage from products and facilities, annual technical advisory, and support for using the results in sustainability disclosure. We design the service to fit a company's needs.

FAQ

Can I ask for a survey only?

Yes. We take on microplastics sampling and analysis, surveys of litter in rivers and on beaches, and road litter distribution surveys on their own. You can ask about planning and designing countermeasures later, after seeing the results.

Can I ask before the budget is decided?

Yes. Using examples from other governments and companies and subsidy programs you can use, we can help you prepare materials for the department in charge and the finance department.

At what stage can I ask about startup support or overseas expansion?

You can ask even when you want to sell overseas but do not know where to start. We help sort out the support programs you can use and plan the first step. Government bodies and foundations can also ask us from the planning stage of a support program.

Will the survey results be made public?

The client decides whether to make results public. Results of our own surveys are published as open data. If you publish, we can help prepare the materials.
