We help solve the artificial turf leakage problem. Our support covers field surveys and analysis to understand the leakage; guidelines and structures to prevent it, based on the actual situation; recycled products made from leaked or discarded turf; ways of running facilities that stop leakage; and monitoring and evaluation of results.
Artificial Turf Leakage Prevention
We support the prevention of artificial turf leakage, which our surveys in Japan found to be widespread.

What Is the Artificial Turf Leakage Problem?
Since 2018, Pirika has surveyed more than 400 sites in Japan and overseas. We found that artificial turf is the product that accounts for the largest share of microplastics leaking in Japan. We published the results as open data and shared them widely, including through the media. With companies and local governments, we have carried out surveys and research to find solutions. Today, specific solutions are being introduced at artificial turf facilities in many places.
